To Dr. James Cardi and Family
My sincerest condolences on the passing of your father Dr. Erminio.
He grew up with my father and the Saccoccia family from "A" Street and was a fellow "Knightsvillin" as I call that generation. As all Italians who grew up in that area, he remained a humble, and polite man as well as a successful surgeon. When I become a nurse and worked at Saint Joseph Hospital, he and his brother Dr. Alphonse were always friendly and respectful of all of the nurses.
They even attended the nurses party at the closing of 6th East and gave us flowers.
I will always remember his smile and also seeing him and his lovely wife at St. Mary's Day dinner at the West Valley in.
(The Cardi's also had their celebration dinner there)
May he rest in Peace.
Doctors come and go, but we as nurses remember those like him, as he truly was the last of the physicians who were true gentlemen.
