LENA CATANZARO Obituary

CATANZARO, LENA D., 81, of Johnston, died peacefully Friday, October 23, 2009 at Cherry Hill Manor, Johnston.

Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Leonardo and Concetta (Bova) Catanzaro. She was employed by the former Bulova Watch Company of Providence for seventeen years before retiring in 1988. Lena was a member of the Madonna Della Civita Society. She was a proud member of the Civil Air Patrol in her youth.

She was the beloved sister of Margaret Pompei and her husband Joseph of Johnston with whom she lived for many years. Lena was the special loving aunt of Cheryl Marquez, Joseph Pompei, Jr., Sharon Paquin and their spouses Antonio, Deborah and Stephen. She was also the great aunt of Christina, Alyssa, Allan, Stephanie, Christopher and Nicholas. Lena was the sister of the late Salvatore and Anna Catanzaro.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Monday at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Cranston Street, Cranston. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS Sunday 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cherry Hill Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, 2 Cherry Hill Road, Johnston, RI 02919.
