Robert Mudge Obituary

MUDGE, ROBERT JOHN, 51, of Punta Gorda, Florida, died unexpectedly, Tuesday, June 14, 2011. He was the son of William C. and Carol (Perry) Mudge of North Kingstown. Bob made his living as a boat and auto mechanic. As a youth, he was a resident of North Kingstown and Jamestown. For the last 25 years, Bob made his home in Punta Gorda. In addition to his parents, Bob is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert L. and Stacey Cahoon, a grandson, Noah R. Cahoon, a sister, Suzanne Zile and her children, Melanie and William Zile, Grandmothers, Rita C. Perry and Mildred Mudge, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Growing up, Bob delighted in nature, collecting reptiles and building elaborate underground forts. The 5 foot black racer will always live in family folklore as it resided preserved in the basement. As an adult, he enjoyed the company of friends, whether camping, boating, or fishing. Rest in peace, Bob. A private service will be held at a later date. He was my step dad ... My most memorable moments are times we shared , like the time he came back in off the shrimp boat and he taught me and my little sister to clean squid , then made us eat em... They were delicious ... He loved to fish and camp . He got me my first fishing pole !! In all honesty there were good times and bad and I think now when I look back that the times that seemed bad were just normal for life and got blown way out of proportion !! I am saddened that he is no longer in my life , I have missed him since we left Florida .. My two regrets ( never telling him how much he ment to my life) ( and that he didn't come to Kansas with us ) he was dad and I never said that to him !! I was 5 when he came into my life I will always remember him and I will always miss him.. I love him very much and so did my mom .. I wish I knew now about life what I didnt know then and that things had ended differently

My very deepest sympathy and prayers go out to Bill, Carol and Sue. Bobby and I had been married for 18 years up until 2010. We were still friends and I still loved him dearly. He was always one that would give you his last penny or the shirt off his back if you needed it. This has left a large hole in my heart as I'm sure it does the very many friends he had. My love, thoughts and prayers are with you.
