RUTH ADELBERG

ADELBERG, RUTH, 96, of St. Elizabeth Home, died Thursday, 10/1/09 at the home. She was the beloved wife of the late Harold Adelberg for 65 years.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Jacob and Rosa (Shapiro) Weiss, she had lived in North Smithfield for 50 years before moving to Warwick and then East Greenwich. She was a partner with her husband at Harold's Auction House in North Smithfield. Devoted mother of Elena L. Sacks and her life partner, Ernest Chernick, of Warwick and Harvey M. Adelberg and his wife, Jan, of Woodbridge, CT. Dear sister of Marshall Weiss of MD, Miriam Horvitz of MA and the late Estelle Rodman and Marcia Cooperman. Loving grandmother of Jonathan, Samuel, Jason and Liza. Adored great-grandmother of 6.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. in PRIEST CHAPEL, LINCOLN PARK CEMETERY, 1469 Post Rd, Warwick. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to St. Elizabeth Home, Unit 1, 1 St. Elizabeth Way, East Greenwich, RI 02818. Shiva will not be observed due to Sukkot.
