Stanley Chase Obituary

CHASE, STANLEY V., 91, of Uncle Sam's Lane, Peacedale, died Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at South County Hospital, Wakefield. He was the husband of the late Mary (Friel) Chase and Rosamonde (Dunford) Chase.

Born in Woonsocket, a son of the late George and Ruth (Vars) Chase. Mr. Chase was an office manager for various RI companies, last working for the former DeBlois Oil Co. for many years before retiring. Stan was very proud of his service as a WWII Navy veteran, serving in the South Pacific Fleet at the time of the bombing of Pearl Harbor. He was an active, devoted member and Past Grand Knight of the Pascoag Council Knights of Columbus. He also served over 25 years as President of the Spring Lake Campers Assoc. and greatly missed living at Spring Lake, his "God's Country".

He was the father of, Beverly A. Hood and her husband Andrew Hood of Narragansett,

Kenneth E. Chase of Pascoag and the late Marjorie (Chase) Fay. He was the loving grandfather of Kevin M. Fay, Kathryn and Michael Cartier. Brother of Arthur Chase of Palm Harbor, Florida, Louise Wilcox of Boynton Beach, Florida and the late George Chase.

His funeral will be held Tuesday at 8:45 am from the TUCKER-QUINN Funeral Chapel, 643 Putnam Ave. (Rte.44) Greenville, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Patrick Church, 45 Main St., Harrisville. Burial with military honors will be in St. Patrick Cemetery. Visitation Monday 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to Pascoag Council K of C charity fund, c/o Joe Hoppe, 160 Colonial Rd., Harrisville, RI 02830 will be appreciated. I am sorry to read about Stan's passing. I remember my visits to Spring Lake and understand why your Dad called it his "Gods Country". Stay well.
