Robert Lytle Obituary

Robert E. Lytle, 95, of Shippensburg, died on the evening of Tuesday, October 9, 2012, at Manor Care, Chambersburg. He was born on April 27, 1917, in Shippensburg, a son of the late Robert A. and Ethel Jane Clippinger Lytle. Robert was a 1935 graduate of Shippensburg High School. On December 11, 1937, Robert married Ms. Josephine M. Allen, in the Shippensburg First Church of God, where has been a life-long member. She preceded him in death on November 2, 2011, spending 75 years of marriage together. Robert worked as a self-employed dairy farmer and for 36 years also drove school bus for Lee McBeth & Sons, Inc. He is survived by his son, Robert A. (Jane) Lytle of Shippensburg; his daughter, Lavonne M. (Sonny) Tritt of Shippensburg; his youngest brother, Glenn R. Lytle of Shippensburg; four grandchildren, John R. Tritt of Newville, Stacey R. Rotz of Shippensburg, Shawn R. Lytle of Shippensburg, and Kimberly S. Starner of Carlisle; two great granddaughters, Breanne Rotz and Elsie Starner; and two step great-grandsons, Dylan and Shaine Rotz. In addition to his parents and wife, Robert was preceded in death by three brothers, one sister, and an infant granddaughter. His funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 13, 2012, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg. Pastor Heidi R. Guyer will officiate. Interment will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Viewing will be one hour prior to the services on Saturday, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shippensburg First Church of God at 121 East King Street Shippensburg, PA 17257.
