Sherry Bender Obituary
Mercersburg - Sherry Rene' Sites Bender, 65, of Mercersburg, PA died December 30, 2020 at the Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg, PA following a long hard battle with COVID.
Born March 27, 1955, in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Robert E. and Leona F. (Shatzer) Sites.
Sherry was 1974 graduate of James Buchanan High School, Mercersburg.
She was a former employee of The Oasis Restaurant and Little Dipper Restaurant both of St. Thomas, PA. Sherry had also worked at Judy Myers Ceramics of Cove Gap, PA and WALMART, Chambersburg. She enjoyed crochet and crafts.
Sherry is survived by her husband, Jon F. Bender, with whom she celebrated their 39th anniversary on December 23, 2020. Daughter, Heather and husband Jerry Burkett, St. Thomas, and the light of Sherry's life her grandson, Ty Robinson, St. Thomas.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday January 6, 2021 at Ebenezer United Brethren Church, Greencastle.
No public viewing, however a visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Wednesday at the church. Masks and social distancing required.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Ebenezer United Brethren Church Building Fund, 3661 Williamson Road, Greencastle, PA 17225.
