Ronald Podgers Obituary
He was born November 17, 1945 to Walter and Georgeina (Hobba) Podgers in Punxsutawney.
Bob or "Podge" as people knew him, was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ and Punxsutawney Eagles #1231.
He worked the majority of his life in the natural gas field, working for S.W. Jack Drilling, J&J Enterprises, and Eastern American Energy.
He retired from NAC Carbon.
He enjoyed watching his kids play sports when they were growing up.
Most of all he loved his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Paula M. (Sivanich) Podgers, Albion, three sons, Douglas M. (Becca), Lebanon, IN, Dean R., Harrisburg, Dale S. (Angela), Punxsutawney, three grandchildren, Mason, Owen, Lexi, a bonus grandchild, Ethan and a granddaughter on the way, Sera Rose, two sisters, Peggy Bodenhorn, Punxsutawney and Rita Gaston (Nick), Rochester Mills, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Frederick Acre and Walter Podgers, Jr.
Friends will be received on Monday, from 1-4 p.m. at the McCabe Funeral Home, Inc., 114 Maple Avenue, Punxsutawney, PA 15767.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Elk Run Volunteer Fire Department, 219 Elk Run Avenue, Punxsutawney, PA 15767 or the Jefferson County EMS, PO Box 14, Punxsutawney, PA 15767.
