Darlene A. Boberg, 99 of Cambridge, died Saturday, June 14, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 20th at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Cambridge. Father Ghislain Iani will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery, Cambridge. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, where a parish rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to her church or the American Cancer Society. Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services, Cambridge is assisting the family.

Darlene Adams was born September 19, 1925 in Kewanee, the daughter of Adolph and Martha Noppe Adams. She was educated in Kewanee schools and graduated from Kewanee High School in 1943. Her marriage to Russell H. Boberg took place on September 17, 1949 in Kewanee. He died July 22, 1996. Darlene was employed by the Peoples Bank of Kewanee for ten years before she started her family. She was the secretary/treasurer of the Henry County Fair from 1954 to 1975. She worked as a claims representative for Country Companies for 13 years, retiring in 1984, and was an election judge for 40 years.

She was on the committee to start a Catholic church in Cambridge in 1964 and became a charter member of the new St. John Vianney Catholic Church when it was built. She was very active in her church, serving on many committees and receiving the Pere Marquette Award for volunteerism from the Catholic Diocese of Peoria. Her memberships in addition to the church were the Bishop Hill Prairie Queen Club, the Henry County Farm Bureau, Valley View Country Club in Cambridge, and the Sew & Sew Quilt Club. Darlene loved to golf, quilt, read, play Mexican Train with her friends, and especially loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Those surviving are her sons and daughter-in-law, David Boberg, Johnston, IA, and his significant other, Karen Stinson, Lee Boberg and his significant other, Peggy Blakely, Cambridge, Brian and Cathy Boberg, Cambridge, a daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Jeff Peacock, Princeton, IL, grandchildren, Daniel Boberg and his fiancé, Sydney Protheroe, Patrick (Marieta) Boberg, Meg Boberg and her spouse (Shawn Peterson), James, Joseph, Luke, Matthew, Andrew Peacock, and Jordan Boberg, and great grandchildren, Emmalyn and Elliana. Her parents, her husband, a sister, Irene Gruszeczka, two brothers, Rene DeFauw and Aime Adams, a grandson, John Peacock, and a daughter-in-law, Linda Boberg, preceded her in death.
