Derek Willett Obituary
July 14, 1972 - August 20, 2025
Derek Duane Willett, 53 of Alpha, Ill., passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at the MercyOne Genesis Medical Center in Silvis, Ill. Visitation will be held Monday, August 25, 2025, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Peterson Wallin Knox Funeral Home in Alpha. The memorial service will directly follow at 6 p.m. Memorial contributions may be left to the American Transplant Foundation. Online condolences can be made at www.petersonwallinknox.com.
Derek was born July 14, 1972, in Moline. The son of Barry and Anna Green Willett. He graduated from AlWood High School with the Class of 1990. He married Tammy Vincent on July 21, 1995, in Bettendorf, Iowa. They were married for 22 years before her passing on August 14, 2017.
Derek worked for PPC in Moline for many years and most recently worked for FedEx in Tennessee. He regularly attended the First Lutheran Church in Sherrard and enjoyed rooting for the Tennessee Volunteers.
He is survived by two children, Kate Willett of Charlotte, N.C., Brett Willett of Alpha; parents, Barry and Anna Willett of Orion; two siblings, Merideth (Brad Huels) Willett of Davenport, Iowa, Donald (Jaymi) Willett of Matherville; and many other loving family members.
