Elaine I. Hast, 95, of East Moline, passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at Park Vista, East Moline.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday July 1, 2024, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. The burial will be at Rose Lawn Memorial Estate, Moline.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
Elaine was born on July 12, 1928, in Sheffield, IL, the daughter of William and Edith Preston. She married Louis M. Hast on November 10, 1951, in Sheffield. He preceded her in death on February 9, 2017. Elaine was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Port Byron and the Backwater Gamblers. She had been employed as a secretary at The Church Mouse in Port Byron and also at Dimock & Gould in Moline. Elaine enjoyed arts and crafts, especially painting. She also liked to make Noah's Ark Necklaces and many others.
Survivors include her sons: Gary (Pam) Hast, David Hast, Gene Hast; daughter, Deb (Matt) Boyd; grandchildren: Michelle Simms, Paul Hast, and Amy Hast; great grandchildren, Alec Simms and Kameron Simms; sister, Helen (Wayne) Howell; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis; brother, Charles Preston; sister, Barbara Gustafson.
