Craig William Clough

Craig William Clough, 67, of Rock Island passed away suddenly on Wednesday, July 17, 2024.
Born November 5, 1956, to Lawrence and Jessie "Polly" Clough in Davenport, IA. Craig was a Davenport Central High School and St. Ambrose University graduate.
A lifelong musician and resident of the Quad Cities, known throughout the community for his skills as a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist playing the piano, organ, tuba and upright bass and as musical director for church, school, and barbershop choruses. He also played with the Johnnie Kaye Orchestra, at Circa 21, with the Quad City Wind Ensemble and loved celebrating joyous and spiritual times, playing at weddings and funerals. He attended St. John's Lutheran Church in East Moline and Bettendorf Presbyterian Church also acting as their substitute organist.
As a music teacher in the Quad City area, he incorporated his craftsmanship helping students make thumb pianos. A piano tuner and technician for over 50 years, Craig also restored instruments and furniture, and painted homes in the Quad Cities. In his later years, he worked in architectural conservation.
He loved socializing, hosting parties and recitals, playing competitive games and was a loving prankster. For Craig, every person he met was an opportunity to make a new friend and knew people everywhere he went.
Craig enjoyed working in celebrating and worshipping in the many beautiful churches of the Quad Cities.
Craig was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Polly; and his sister, Pamela Joy; and survived by his children, Elizabeth Anne and Paul William, his dear friends, David Arbogast and Patricia Helmich, cousins, Carlene Kuntz, Steve Clough, and Doug Clough; and his brother, Kevin Clough. Visitation Tuesday, July 30th 10:00 a.m.,-12:00 p.m., at Weerts in Davenport.
A celebration of life will be held in November.
