DAVENPORT-Juanita R. Hayes, 89, of Davenport went to heaven February 11, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family following an extended illness. Her funeral mass will be 10am Thursday, February 16, 2023 at St. Anthony Catholic Church Davenport, IA. Visitation will be 5-8pm with the Rosary at 7pm Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at the Runge Mortuary. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Condolences may be shared at www.rungemortuary.com.
Juanita was the daughter of Frank and Fannie Lopez. She married David (Gabby) Hayes on November 3, 1956 in St Alphonsus Catholic Church Davenport, IA. She was a great wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt.
Juanita grew up in Cooks Point. She loved to play bingo, word puzzles, crocheting, and doing ceramics. She loved dancing and listening to music before her health declined. She retired from Frank's Foundry in Davenport. She was loved by all her family and friends.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, David Hayes, Sr.; children, David Hayes Jr. (Lili), Terrie Diaz (Margarito), and Martin "Marty" Hayes (Amy); grandkids, Margarito Jr. Marcelino, Serafina, Vicente, Melissa, Abbi, Cortney, Chelsea, Anna, and Hayley; great-grandkids, Christopher, Karsyn, Cyrus, Mylania, Alysa, Kylee, Alec, Liliana, Christian, Jose, Alejandro, Josie, and Carlos Jr.; great-great-grandkids, Yovanie and Zeke; sisters, Mary Smith, Luann, "Tuni" Carney (Mike), Teddy Lopez, and Linda Johnson; brother, Gary Lopez; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Richard Hayes brothers; Archie, Frankie, Danny, and Leonard Lopez; sisters, Margaret Adams and Frances; great-grandson, Angel Lara; uncles, Julian Ortiz and Manuel Ortiz; aunt Simona, and many cousins.
