1936 - 2024

ROSE BARBARA (BATTALION) SHOBERG Rose Barbara (Battalion) Shoberg was born June 17, 1936, in International Falls, MN to John Peter Battalion and Alice Ann (Katzenberger) Battalion. Rose passed peacefully at the Good Samaritan Society of Int'l Falls on Tuesday October 22, 2024, following an extended battle with Alzheimers and Parkinsons. Rose was united in marriage with Francis Everett Shoberg July 24, 1957. They celebrated 50 years of marriage in the summer of 2007 prior to the passing of Francis in the fall. They raised 3 sons: Roger Allen, John Patrick, and Donald Joseph. Rose's happiest times were in the woods. Picnics at the hunting shack, berry picking with the granddaughters, fishing on the Rainy River, and simple campfires were treasured moments. She is preceded in death by her husband, Francis; brother, Peter; sisters, Katherine Battalion and Arlene Anderson; and nephews: Teddy, Peter Jr. and Daniel. Left to cherish her memory are her brother, Richard; sons: John and Roger of Int'l Falls, and Don and wife, Lynn (Sprague) Shoberg of Ashton, IA; and granddaughters, Renie Shoberg of Minneapolis, MN and Kori (Shoberg) Hoting and husband, Miley of Ashton, IA. Rose also leaves behind four great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson. Services will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Green-Larsen Mortuary in International Falls, MN.
