Gloria was my first cousin Her father, Jack and my father Julius were brothers. I only met her once as a young adult but I knew much about her from the family. I even had a theatrical picture of her and remember being proud of her accomplishments as a little girl. I saw her in Broadway Danny Rose and delighted in it. When I met her as a young adult at a wedding for her nephew I remember thinking, how very warm and sweet she was . What possessed me to look up her obituary this morning, I don’t know! But I’m glad she lived to such a ripe old age. May she rest in peacelove from me her cousin and as far as I know, no one else is alive at this point. Marilyn Rosenthal Ziff. I’m 88 years old and will be 89 in June. I hope I have her genes!!! lol. ♥

My Dad and
I knew GLORIA personally.
He dated her briefly and we went to her house in Long Island! She will be forever remembered for her kindness and sasssiness! We will miss you Gloria.

Yesterday August 20th, 2023 was celebrity Gloria Parker ‘s 102nd birthday.
I first saw Gloria perform with her band in 1991 at a festival. I photographed her and mailed the photos to her, to which she contacted me and we became friends. I enjoyed our frequent phone conversations and all the stories she spoke about the entertainment business and her career.
Periodically, I would go to her local shows at different venues and she was gracious to even let me perform a few songs with her band. On occasions, we would visit each other’s homes or go to a Diner. I even knew her mother Rose.
Gloria loved my family and my Dadshe knew all about my life and careers.
She was a lover of animals and nature, she even shared with me her precious Tithonia seeds for my garden. I was honored when she came to one of my shows, she adored my singing voice and playing the guitar, especially when I sang her song “There’s a Miracle”.
She never revealed her age, I never knew until I read her obituary, as she was still very sharp, her voice never aged and she was quite fashionable up to the end.
So, I’m wishing Maestro Gloria Parker a Happy Birthday in Heaven. Eveline (this photo I took of her was one of her favorites. PS: she even handmade all her own dresses)

My heartfelt condolences are offered to the family, many, many friends, and fans of Ms. Gloria Parker. Ms. Gloria Parker was a musician and bandleader who played the marimba and the “singing glasses,” or glass harp. May the love and many, many special memories you shared with your devoted loved one show how much your life was touched by her. May the God of comfort bless your grieving hearts with strength, loving kindness and peace as the world copes with the loss of Ms. Gloria Parker. May her musical talent keep her memory alive forever.

Had the pleasure of meeting this wonderful talented lady even at the age of 100. She shared with me her musical career and even entrusted the filing of her beloved music sheets while singing along with Mr.Parker (her beloved parrot) I will always treasure the time we spent together and miss her( one of a kind) ❤

I have heard her play on the glasses and she made beautiful music. This is something you just don't see or hear anymore. So sad to see her go but hope she rests in peace, listening to her music!
