Melvin Wayne Baker, 56, of Curryville, passed away Tuesday Sept. 27, 2016, at his home in Curryville.
Funeral services were held Friday at Bibb-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green, Pastor Bill Hobbs officiated.
Burial was in the Curryville Cemetery. Visitation was Thursday at Bibb-Veach Funeral Home.
He was born on Oct. 10, 1959, in Hannibal, the son of Melvin and Marie Hubert Baker. He married Janice Schuckenbrock on Aug. 17, 2014, in Frankford and she survives.
Other surviving family is his mother, Marie Baker; three sons, Jeremy W. Baker (Andrea), of Frankford; Tyler C. Baker (Ashley), of Bowling Green; and Logan C. Baker, of Marshall; 11 grandchildren, Layne, Tucker, MacKinley, Jaxtyn, Hudsyn Baker, Brooke Anderson, Seth Evans, Lauren, Bruce, Abram Haley, and Bradley Haley; brother, Richard L. Baker (Jamie), of Frankford; and sister, Kim A. Luebrecht, (David), of Bowling Green; stepchildren, John Haley and Cassie Schuckenbrock, of Bowling Green.
He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Baker, son, Dustin Kyle in infancy; grandparents, Chauncey Byron and Elizabeth Baker and Kennedy and Goldie Hubert.
Melvin Wayne grew up and lived in Frankford and Curryville areas all his life. Had been a member of the New Harmony Christian Church and most recent was attending 1 Way Ministries near Bowling Green.
He owned and operated Baker Sales and Service in Louisiana. He enjoyed horseback riding, hunting but most of all spending time with his grandchildren.
Pallbearers will Ronnie Calvin, Doug Epperson, Mike Houchins, Dale Hogue, Josh Wealder, and Dennis Noel.
Honorary pallbearers will be Layne, Tucker, MacKinley, Jaxtyn and Hudsyn Baker, Brooke Anderson, Seth Evans, Lauren, Bruce, Abram and Bradley Haley, Blake, Ethan and Damon Luebrecht, Brandon, Jared and Paige Baker.
