Mr. Hall was born on Oct. 13, 1931, at home on the family farm, in Julian RD, Pa. He was the sixth of the seven surviving children of J. Benner and Alma M. Hall.
Mr. Hall is survived by his wife of 54 years, Yoshiko Nagaoka Hall, originally from Fukuoka, Japan; and their five children: James E. Hall, Huntingtown, Md.; Bonnie Hall Benfer, West Reading; Peggy Hall Pfohl, Duluth, Ga.; Robert G. Hall, Keller, Texas; and David S. Hall, Newark, N.J.
In addition, Mr. Hall is survived by his five grandchildren: Amanda S. Benfer, Brian A. Pfohl, Lauren A. Pfohl, Kelley P. Hall and Peyton W. Hall.

He served six years in the United States Army as a military policeman during the Korean conflict.
He worked for Cerro Copper & Brass for more than 40 years and retired in 2001.
He was a devoted and loving father and instilled his love of athletics and his strong work ethic in his five children, which continue today.
He placed a strong emphasis on education and ensured that all of his children graduated from college. He was a devoted Runville, Pa., Little League coach for nearly 15 years.
Mr. Hall's birth on the family farm fostered a lifelong love of farming, animals, gardening and nature. He was an avid outdoorsman and hunter; he loved to hunt deer, turkey and later raccoons, accompanied by his beloved bluetick coonhounds, Butch and Buddy.
Mr. Hall was well known for his daily walks by his neighbors in and around his Unionville and Bernville homes. He was an active volunteer and tutor in the Penn-Bernville Elementary School for the eight years that he lived in Bernville.
Mr. Hall was a direct descendant of Revolutionary War veteran John W. Hall, who is buried in the Unionville Cemetery.

Mrs. Hall & Mrs. Benfer,
Mr. Hall had such a joy for life, he made others smile. He was a very honest man; he found my camera along Rt. 183 and actually develped the film to search for the owner, what a guy! I will miss seeing him at school and walking on Rt. 183. I believe his lawn is the BEST in Bernville. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. God's Peace to your family.

We face the passing of a loved one with a mixture of emotions: mournfulness and celebration. While we mourn our personal loss, we celebrate a life that brought joy, love and lessons to many. Remember the lessons; remember the love and the joy returns. May your sense of loss be buoyed by the celebration. May God continue to bless you.

Dear David and Bonnie, I know both of you vividly recall my drive out to Bernville, during which I had the distinct pleasure of meeting both your dad and mom.
Mr. and Mrs. Hall graciously welcomed me into their home and profusely thanked me for giving David (my best friend) a ride home, thus allowing him to spend some much deserved quality time with them. However, prior to our going inside, your dad, with surgeon like precision, scanned my car and posed questions, had I thought to ask the car dealer, would have most likely resulted in my opting not to go through with the purchase.
That one chance meeting left me with a wonderful and memorable impression of your dad.
Accordingly, Mrs. Hall, David, Bonnie, Amanda and the entire Hall family, please accept my sincere and deepest heartfelt sympathy and condolences for the loss of your loved one. Respectfully – Jim (Newark, NJ).

I remember many a deer season visiting with Cecil near Bear Knob on SGL 103 here in Centre County. We would always chat quite awhile when we met. My oldest Son Cecil, Jr. met him along with me on the occassions when he would accompany me up on the mountain. I treasure those times and offer my sincere and heartfelt condolences to the family. May the Lord comfort you at this time of loss.
