Cleonice Weida Obituary

Cleonice M. Weida, 92, of Breinigsville, died July 21 in the Inpatient Hospice of Lehigh Valley Hospital near Allentown.

She was the widow of the Rev. Willard G. Weida, who died in 1988.

Born in Lynn Township, Lehigh County, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Minerva (Sechler) Bleiler.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Trexlertown, Lehigh County, and a life member of the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America.

Surviving are a daughter, Kathryn, wife of Nelson Schaeffer; and three sons: George and his wife, Martha; Robert and his wife, Denise; and Richard and his wife, Nancy.

Other survivors include three sisters: Sarah, wife of Lester Bailey; Margaret, widow of Alfred Wert; and Ruth, wife of Albert Schneck.

There are also eight grandchildren: Karen Weinrich, David and Jeffrey Schaeffer, George J. and Peter Weida, Gretchen Belinger, Rebecca Weida and Matthew Farr; and five great-grandchildren: Benjamin, Alexander and Jonathan Weinrich, Owen Weida and Liesl Cope-Schaeffer.

Services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 8227 Hamilton Blvd., Trexlertown. No calling hours. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Union Cemetery, Lynville, Lehigh County. Contributions can be made to the Rev. Willard G. and Cleonice M. Weida Endowment Aid Fund, c/o Schmoyer Funeral Home, Breiningsville, PA 18031-0190. www.schmoyerfuneralhome.com.
