Dennis Luther Deiter Sr.

1949 - 2021

Dennis “Denny” Luther Deiter, Sr., 71, of Reading, PA passed away on March 11, 2021. He was born in Berks county, PA, on November 2, 1949, son of the late Lester and Edith Deiter. Dennis graduated from Reading High School and worked in the automotive industry for over 50 years. He also owned and operated Steven’s Auto Parts and State Street Auto. Dennis’ business was also his hobby; he was passionate about buying, fixing and collecting cars. He also enjoyed traveling as much as possible to Florida, which he considered his second home. He is survived by two children, Stefanie Deiter-Printz and husband Chuck of Ephrata, PA, Dennis L. Deiter Jr. of Reading, PA, as well as two sisters and various extended family members. To honor Dennis’ love of warm weather and the sunshine state, his ashes will be spread in Florida at a later date. For family and friends wishing to gather, a celebration of life will be held this spring. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hershey Antique Auto Museum, so that others may continue to learn about and love the cars that he did.
