Edith M. Tiderman

1934 - 2021

Mrs. Edith M. (Dries) Tiderman, 86, of Molltown, passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at her home. Born September 21, 1934 in Richmond Township, she was the daughter of the late Herbert K. and Sallie N. (Moyer) Dries. She and her husband of 69 years, Martin D. Tiderman, were married on November 24, 1951 at Becker’s St. Peters Lutheran Church, Molltown. Edith owned and managed Tiderman’s General Store in Molltown for over 10 years. She also ran the company store and worked in quality control at CAMSCO, Evansville. Edith attended school in Richmond Twp and at Kutztown Area High School. Edith was a longtime member of Becker’s St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher and served on Church Council. She was also on the social committee, organizing dinners, entertainment and funeral luncheons and was instrumental in the church’s memory garden. She was a member of the Shoemakersville Seniors and enjoyed fishing, dancing and gardening. Edith was a friend to all. She was always there to help anyone, family, friend or stranger alike, with whatever they may need. She liked to laugh and will be remembered, most of all, for the love she had for her family and friends. Surviving in addition to her husband, Martin, are her children, Julie A. (Tiderman) Hughes, wife of Robert S. Hughes, Kennett Square, Mark D. Tiderman, husband of Linda E. (Gallagher) Tiderman, Blandon and Dan J. Tiderman, husband of Dawn E. (Stengle) Tiderman, Kintnersville. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Melissa and her husband, Frank, Evan and his wife, Rhonda, Cory, Casey and his wife, Shannon, Dana, and Jesirae and by her great-grandchildren, Samantha, Joshua, Jeremy, Juliette, Jameson, Vera, Marion, Shaelyn, and one on the way. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Warren, Edna, Helen, Harry, Arlene, Grace, Mary, and Herbert. Funeral Services for Edith will be held on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at 11:00 am at Becker’s St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 265 Maidencreek Rd, Fleetwood. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Viewings will be held for Edith on Wednesday evening, August 25, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Walbert Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 14390 Kutztown Rd, Fleetwood, and on Thursday, August 26, 2021, from 10:00 to 11:00 am at Becker’s St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.
