James Dautrich Obituary

James F. "Pop-Pop" Dautrich, 98, of Keystone Villa of Fleetwood, formerly of Montrose Manor, died on Friday, September 27, 2013. His wife, Mary E. (Heffner) Dautrich, died on April 4, 2013. They celebrated their 74th wedding anniversary on December 24, 2012.

Born March 19, 1915, in Stony Creek Mills, Berks County, he was a son of the late Jacob and Sally (Faust) Dautrich.

James worked for Sears, Roebuck and Company for 20 years as an appliance repair technician. He also worked for Boscov's, retiring in 1982. There wasn't an appliance that he wasn't able to fix. Jim had a great sense of humor, loved to tell stories of his younger years and share his wisdom with all those around him.

He loved to play cards and board games. He also loved hoe downing and calling all the moves. Above all, he was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle to many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed. He was a member of West Lawn United Methodist Church.

Surviving is a daughter-in-law, Edna H. Dautrich, of Douglassville; granddaughters, Lorraine R. Valeriano, wife of Larry F. Valeriano Jr. of Oley; and The Rev. Corrine R. Dautrich of Fleetwood; and great-grandsons, Marcus J. and Alex J. Valeriano. Also surviving is a sister, Pearl Seyler of Fleetwood, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, James M. Dautrich, who died May 2, 1985. He was also predeceased by three brothers: Paul, Herb and Ellis; and six sisters: Ida, Irene, Annie, Norma, Elsie and Esther.

Funeral service will be on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. from Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., One East Lancaster Ave., Shillington. Friends may call from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Interment in Spies-Zion Cemetery. We have so many fond memories of Uncle Jim. Playing cards, driving the Model T 1921 Ford, and his stories of the past. Esther, (my mom) always said Jim was her favorite brother because he was always "so nice". He will me sadly missed. Take Care, We Care, Elaine and Larry

I had the pleasure working with Jim at Boscov's. A soft spoken man of kind words is how I remember him. May Jim be at peace.
