Born in Adamstown, she was the daughter of the late George Charles and Edna Mae (Bucher) Bollman.
She was a member of Central Park UM Church, Reading and a graduate of Shillington High School, Har-cum Jr. College and Duke University in Chapel Hill.
She enjoyed summers in Stone Harbor, N.J., and spending time with her grandchildren. Margaret was a lifetime member of the Womelsdorf Family Association and the Adamstown VFW. She was a great sports fan, especially of men's college basketball, football and golf.
Margaret retired from Meridian Bank in Reading. In the past she was a youth social worker, a substitute teacher and a homemaker.
Surviving are her son, Christopher G. Kachel of Adamstown, and her daughter, Cathrine G. (Kachel), wife of Daniel Williams of Mountville; six grandchildren: Alyssa M. Hess, Taylor G. Hess, Amelia M. Kachel, Alan R. Kachel, Zachary T. Williams, and Joshua R. Williams; two great-grandchild-ren; and her sister, Agnes L. Bollman.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kelly B. Kachel, her brother, George C. Bollman, and her sister, Barbara L. Seaholtz.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2011, at the Cedar Grove Chapel in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Adamstown with Rev. Daniel Derk officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Her family would like to thank St. Anne's Retirement Community staff and volunteers for their care and support.
