Harrison Swope.
Born October 27, 1927, in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Sebastiana (Ugliuzza) and Frank N. Accordino, both deceased.
Mary worked as a presser at Kelray Knitting Mills in West Reading. She and her husband, Jim, co-owned Quartieri's Meat Market for 28 years, retiring in 1990.
Mary will be remembered as a wonderful mother who loved and supported her children, family and friends in many ways. She was honest, passionate about her family, and having never said a negative word about anyone, she
always thought about others before herself. Mary, along with her husband, Jim, were unbiased and nonjudgmental, and set that example for their children and grandchildren.
She loved playing cards, dancing and going to a monthly lunch with her sisters and cousins. Mary also enjoyed her monthly card club of 63 years and Sunday gatherings with her family.
Mary is survived by her son, Jim, Sacramento, Calif.; daughter, Kathleen, wife of Robert H. Swope, Spring Township; and grandson, John Quartieri, Sausalito, Calif.
She was predeceased by husband, James V. Quartieri, in 2013; and grandson, Adam Harrison Swope, in 2017. Also predeceased were her brother, Frank N. Accordino; and sister, Elena (Accordino) Kostival; and brothers-in-law,
Richard L. Mersinger and John A. Milanek.
Also surviving are sisters, Anna Mersinger, Spring Township, and Rose Marie Milanek, West Lawn; brother-in-law, Robert Kostival, Kenhorst; sister-in-law, Juree Accordino, Tampa, Fla., like-a-sister, Joanna Cirulli, Wyomissing; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
