Dear Courtney and Matt, Billy and Loretta, Ben and Laura,
We have such fond memories of Scott and all of you even though we lived far away, especially the times we shared with Nana and Pop Pop at the pumping station and Christmas with Scott and Billy's Dad and Mom. Our prayers are that you experience God's comforting love as you celebrate Scott's life and his transition to eternal life. We are sorry that we are unable to share in the graveside service but will be thinking of you. But Mary and Norma are visiting with Aunt Margaret from Friday night till Sunday afternoon and hope we might see you.

My heart is heavy this week with the passing of two very special cousins, Scott Mengel and Heather Hinkel. My love and prayers for peace and comfort go out to you Billy, Loretta, Debbie, Courtney and Matthew. Though it has been a while, I have fond memories of our family gatherings: Thanksgivings at the Hinkel's and Christmas at the Mengel's. Thinking of you all with love.

I first met Scott and brother Billy around 1962 at Good Shepherd Church. I have many memories of him from vacation bible school, sledding at his grandparents' place near Lake Ontelaunee (they ran the water pumping station), fishing with the youth group, and burying the time capsule at age 11 (which was opened earlier this year). May God bless you, Scott-I'm sorry to read you weren't blessed with many more years.

I send you my deepest sympathies. Scott was one of my earliest friends in grade school at Riverview Park Elementary School. We lost touch over the years but he was always someone I remember fondly.
