Shanon Althouse Obituary
Shanon L. Althouse, 18, of Womelsdorf, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2017, in Upper Tulpehocken Township.
Born in Lebanon on Dec. 8, 1999, she was the daughter of Michael L. and Jacqueline L. (Gates) Althouse.
She was a senior at Tulpehocken High School.
She had a smile that never failed to light up a room, her smile was so infectious that everyone around her couldn't help but be inspired by her happiness. There did not exist a person whom Shanon did not love and was not loved by. A self proclaimed country girl who was rarely found without cowboy boots and her camoflauge sweatshirt.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a brother, Zachary R. Althouse, Womelsdorf; paternal grandparents, Harry and Linda (Leisey) Althouse; maternal
grandparents, Chris and Julie Moore; great-grandmother, Catharine I. (Hardt) Leisey; Her uncles and aunts: Rick and Dory Triest, Harold and Linda Althouse, and Lucy Gates; cousins: Brad, Christa, Wendy, Patti and Tristen; her cat, Fluffy; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 31st, at Tulpehocken High School Auditorium, 430 New Schaefferstown Rd., Bernville. A viewing will be held from 1-4:00 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 30th, at Hill Funeral Home, Rehrersburg. Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 2nd, at Salem Reformed Church Cemetery, Bethel.

You were the nicest person I've ever met. I've known you since before kindergarten we have so many memories together. From going to Kids club together to helping out with VBS. We've always been there for each other. We had recently become quite close again. My heart will always hold a special place for you. Shanon, you were the sweetest and kindest girl I have ever met. You always had a smile on your face no matter what. You were a part of my family and we all miss you greatly. I will never forget all the camping trips you joined us on. There were so many great times, from four-wheeling up north to fishing on the bay in Maryland. We shared so many memories together. Sweet Shanon. I feel so blessed that we got to know you and be part of your life. Camping trips, family functions, church functions...... you were kind and helpful and fun and a ray of sunshine.
