Am very saddened to learn that Mark is gone, but am so very grateful to have visited with him at the last class reunion. He had many accomplishments in his lifetime but it was too short. His was one of the most brightest of smiles. My heart goes out to his family in their loss.

Dear Debra,
Russ and I join in telling you how sorry we are for your sudden loss of your beloved Mark.
Mark Newell let us know the news of Mark's unexpected heart attack.
Seeing your Mark's face beaming with pride over the work you did to create your wine cellar at McNab Ranch is a happy memory I will carry forward.
Mark's natural leadership abilities made such a mark in Northern California, both in the hotel business but the construction industry which built all those houses and hotels.
Our thoughts are with you and we wish you peace, all our hugs and good energy,
Russ and Charlie

I have a handyman business and have been working with Mark and Debra for three years. Mark had high expectations on doing a job correctly and in a timely manner, but not demanding, just a matter of fact. He would never ask someone to do something he was not willing to do himself. I recall a special moment the second week I had been working with them. The three of us were going over the initial landscape/ irrigation plans, which were many. Mark looked at Debra and said, "Did I give you too much land to work with?" Debra replied, "Watch it mister, or I'll ask for more." Mark looked at me with that genuine 'Mark' look and I responded, "You better give the lady what she wants!" He agreed. That was the day I knew he'd do anything to make her happy. Another memory that will stick with me forever was on a 110 degree day. Mark and I had just finished finalizing the lawn irrigation. He headed towards the shop, stopped midway over the bridge, and turned around and walked back towards me. He said, "Steve, I have been doing this a long time and it has been my experience that referrals mean everything and if you ever need one, I would be more than happy." He said he couldn't think of anyone else he would rather refer. Coming from a man with as much experience, wisdom, and integrity as Mark, that meant the world to me. Anytime my business starts to get overwhelming, I recall those words, and many others, when he encouraged me to carry on. I look forward to being with Mark in Heaven and working on many new projects together, but with precious metals and jewels. Love Ya Mark!!

My Heart is with you Debra and all that loved Mark. I had only known Mark for a few years and it was apparent from the start that he was a really good man. always a gentleman and very respectful to me. My day was always brighter when I had a chance to run in to Mark around town. His encouragement and sincere support of me and my business always made me want to do even better. I know your hearts are breaking right now and for a time to come as is mine. I just hope you can focus on all the truely good he has accomplished and all of the lives he has touched in such a good way. Please take comfort in how Craig and I saw Mark through our eyes because Im sure we are not the only ones he had touched this way. please take care sweet Debra we are all here to support you if you need. Rest in Peace Mark, sincerely Shelly and Craig Werner

Renee, and all Mark's loved ones,
I well remember the Good Old Days at Fortuna Assembly of God Church, when Mark and Jeanie would invite and/or take the "old folks" to their Hilltop House for Sunday Dinner. We were all young then...LOL!!!
My heart goes out to all of you in your loss of a great loved one. May God comfort you in your grief, sustain you in your loss, give your courage to move forward, and grant you JOY in your wonderful memories. Because "The Joy of the Lord IS our strength". Mark's life was a testimony to that truth. Love and Prayers, your sister in Christ,
Susan Dazzi

May your dear family and special friends from high school and through the years also be blessed during this time of grief and mourning at your leaving them. Susan (Bianchi Dazzi)
