Barbara B. Kaczor
Barbara B. Kaczor, 98, beloved wife of the late Edward Kaczor, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2025, at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Meriden on January 1, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Emily (Wright) Bartek. She had resided in Meriden her entire life and graduated from Meriden High School, class of 1944. She was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church.
Barbara was a devoted mother and only returned to the workforce part time as an Avon Lady when her younger children reached Junior High School. Later she returned to the Meriden Gravure Co., where she had worked before marriage, and worked in their office until her retirement.
Barbara and Eddie enjoyed traveling out west. They would stay at the Tanque Verde Dude Ranch in Arizona, where Barbara rode horses across the desert and into the hills. They would go to Las Vegas, NV for shows and gambling. Barbara an Eddie would also visit their daughter Susan who lived in Los Angels at the time, raising cairn terriers. Barbara loved dogs, and after Susan had passed, Barbara adopted one of the cairns, a sweet boy named Snit. After Snit passed away, she adopted a rescue pup named Suzy, who was her constant companion until the end.
After her diagnosis with dementia, Barbara left the home she and Eddie had built in 1956 and moved in with her daughter, Karen and Fred.
She is survived by her daughter Karen Keene and her husband, Fred of Meriden; her two sons, Robert and his wife Joanne of South Meriden and Thomas Kaczor of Meriden; her four grandchildren, Lisa Dummitt of Meriden, Angela Keene of Rocky Hill, Sarah McConnell and her husband Tony of Norwalk and Michael Kaczor of Wallingford and her five great-grandchildren, Joshua Dummitt and his wife Nicole Ruschmeyer of Brookfield, Jayden Dummitt and her fiancé Hon Luong of Milford, Jazmine Dummitt, Jacob Dummitt of Meriden and Lizzie McConnell of Norwalk. She was also survived by several nieces and nephews, her cousin Marylyn Glenn of Wallingford and her dear friend and "honorary" daughter Judy Steinberg of Los Angeles, CA. Barbara was predeceased by her daughter, Susan Kaczor, who passed away in 2002.
The family would like to thank Barbara's caregiver, Nilsa Vasquez, for her gentle care and loving devotion to our mother/grandmother.
