David Wells Obituary

David Alan Wells
11/13/1944 - 01/12/2024
We are saddened to announce the passing of David A. Wells "Dmole" on Jan. 12, 2024 at HOCC. He was born in New Britain on Nov. 13, 1944 to the late Ernest C. and Dorothy Harris Wells and grew up in Kensington where he resided. He graduated from Berlin High class of 1962. Dave had a lucrative career as an accountant, retiring in 2003 from the State of CT DOT. Dave was the proverbial "life of the party " with his charming personality he made friends wherever he went. He was a man of many stories and with his infectious laugh he will forever be remembered for the good times we all shared with him. Dave was a kind and generous man with a big heart. He supported many charities and was active in civic organizations including the Elks lodge. He had a love of cars, regretting the day he sold his '62 Corvette and will be remembered for his blue '55 Chevy pickup with the Pabst Blue Ribbon beer tap gear shift. Dave enjoyed many activities through the years including snowmobiling, camping in Vermont, hanging out at Sound View beach, kayaking and his favorite, riding around in his truck with his Black Lab, Shaq, going to the lake every day. Dave leaves behind his loving wife of 44 years Theresa (Donovan), his son, Benjamin and wife Vivian Martinez-Wells and daughter, Tracey Cochran as well as his grandchildren Ryan, Reilly, Trent, Mason Angelo, and Isabel. Also left are his siblings Donald (Ann Marie), Joan Niles (Richard) and Gary and several nieces and nephews. Dave was a true friend to many and leaves behind many long-lasting friendships which he treasured. Services were held Jan. 19 at Berlin Memorial funeral home. Kensington - David Alan Wells

I worked with Dave Wells for many years at the DOT. I will always remember Dave for his humor in almost everything he did. He had a very jolly way about him. We shared many laughs. I am happy that I knew him and may he rest in peace. Ken Gambardella
