Francisca Valentin Obituary
Born in Aguada, Puerto Rico on May 7, 1936 she was the daughter of the late Teodoro and Ramona (Perez) Burgos and had resided in Meriden since August of 1956. Mrs. Valentin retired from Specialty Cable of Wallingford. She was a devoted Catholic and parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church and was a member of Cursillista. She was a great seamstress, avid reader until her diabetes impaired her vision, loved family gatherings, going to the casinos, Spanish radio on Saturday mornings, playing cards and dominoes with Rosie, and Spanish soap operas.
She is survived by one daughter, Frances Valentin, of Meriden; three sons, Pedro Valentin, Jr. and his wife, Marjorie, of Lebanon, Jorge Valentin and his wife, Candace, of Meriden, and William Valentin, of Meriden; five grandchildren, Molly and Emily Valentin, of Meriden, Jonathan Valentin, of Lebanon, Jennifer Michael and her husband, Erik of Aston, Pa., Melanie Eaton and her husband, Bill, of Meriden; one great-grandson, Jonathan Michael of Aston, Pa. She is also survived by four sisters, Carmen D. Carrion, Monserrate Rios, Iris N. Mejias and her husband, Claudio, and Ramona B. Gonzalez, all of Meriden; three brothers, Manuel Burgos, of New York, Carlos Burgos and his wife, Marisol, of Meriden, and Rafael Alers Crespo, of Puerto Rico; and many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and friends. She was predeceased by two brothers, Juan and Angel Burgos.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, June 16, at 10 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church. Everyone is asked to gather at the church. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the John J. Ferry and Sons Funeral Home 88 E. Main St., Meriden on Wednesday, June 15 from 4 to 8 p.m.

Paquita was a wonderful person. I will never forget how good she was to my son Edgardo and daughter Wandy while they rented an apt. at her two fam. house. They were very young then, and I was in PR at that time, but per my children she was very kind to them. Always giving them good advises. Paquita, you knew I was always greatful for that. You will always be remembered, and missed dearly.
