Michael Kraskowski Obituary
Following college, Michael served in the Peace Corp. for 2 years in South Korea, teaching and mentoring middle and high school Korean students. He remained close to one of his students, whose education he financed through college.
On his return to Wallingford, Michael started a career in banking. At the age of 28 Michael was elected to the Connecticut House of Representatives and served one term. An accident in 1979 disabled Michael and cut his political and banking careers short. Fifteen years ago, Michael suffered a stroke which confined him to nursing home care for the rest of his life.
Michael was beloved by many friends from his Peace Corp. days, with whom he stayed in close touch over his lifetime. Michael's generosity, friendly nature and kindness created a large circle of friends from his membership in the Hibernian Society, his volunteer work at the public library, and his involvement in the Men's Club and as an usher at Our Lady of Fatima Church.
Friends are invited to gather at The Yalesville Funeral Home, 386 Main Street in Yalesville at 9 AM on Saturday, November 23, 2019. The funeral cortege will proceed to Our Lady of Fatima Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Meriden. www.yalesvillefh.com

Michael and I became friends while attending Notre Dame High School. My recollection of Michael is that he was an excellent student and a very friendly individual. We were members of Notre Dame's debate team. i have fond memories of our working together. Michael was a special person who will be missed. Rest in peace my friend.

I want to extend my deepest sympathy to Mike, his family and friends. He was a Notre Dame Classmate and that means we will always be brothers! Mike used to attend many dances in Wallingford when our band performed in the late 70's and early 80's. I also want to extend a great deal of gratitude for the many people who helped Mike through his rough times all these years. You will be in our prayers.

I first met Michael at a Our Lady of Fatima Men`s Club meeting many years ago. He was a wonderful person always with a smile on his face even when became disabled. We always looked forward to seeing Michael at the annual Fatima St. Patrick Dinner. His dear friends and caregivers, Fred and Cathy Heinman, always made sure Michael had transportation to and from the dinner. He will be missed!

I remember Michael as an extraordinarily generous, compassionate, and friendly man of intelligence, integrity, faith and commitment. I can easily imagine the contributions and accomplishments Michael could have made for the greater good had he been able fulfill his destiny. God bless the soul of this Good Man.
