Paul Eligio, Obituary

NORTH HAVEN - Paul Eligio, Sr., 77, of North Haven, entered into eternal rest peacefully at his home on Thursday, July 7, 2016, with his family by his side. He was the husband of 53 years to Barbara LoRusso Eligio; and the father of Paul (Sharon) Eligio, Jr., and Wendy (Pat) Eligio Fusco. He was the grandfather of Daniel Fusco, Amber Fusco, and Paul Eligio III.

Paul was born on March 24, 1939, in Caiazzo, Italy and was the son of the late Frank Eligio and Anna Puorto Eligio. He was predeceased by three sisters, Alexandra Eligio, Sandra Eligio D'Amato, Ida Eligio Mastroianni; and a brother, Enzo Eligio. Paul was employed at Parese Auto Body in North Haven for many years before opening his own auto body business and was known to be "the best" auto body repair man that anyone could have, and his reputation always preceded him in that field. He loved working on cars and also restoring many classic cars. Some of his favorite things were making wine with his son, Paul, Jr.; enjoying his daughter, Wendy's homemade snacks; and singing Italian songs at home and at family functions. He was a fun loving person, and will be forever missed by those who knew and loved him.

His funeral procession left the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., Monday, July 11. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated in St. Barnabas Church. Interment was followed in All Saints Cemetery.
