Ralph Prete Obituary
Ralph was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Dec. 21, 1938; son of the late Ralph and Louise Ferrara Prete; had worked for the former Tire King of West Haven, was co-owner of R & L Auto Service of West Haven with his good friend, Louis Esposito, was the owner of Prete's Firestone of North Haven and later had worked for Advanced Auto. Ralph was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Father Donaher Council of North Haven and the North Haven Senior Center. He served in the U.S. Marine Reserves, was a N.Y. Giants fan, enjoyed playing cards (especially Texas Hold-Um), going to the casino but especially enjoyed his family whom he loved unconditionally.
He was the father of Louann (Pat) Piccirillo, Ralph (Marie) Prete, Lisa Erff and Cathryn Donovan; also survived by nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted in the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., on Monday, May 9. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929. www.northhavenfuneral.com

I'm sad to hear about your loss, and it was a great pleasure to have known and worked for Ralph and the family at Firestone. He was a great guy, who always joked around and I learned a lot from him when I first started out in the trade. My condolences, to all of you!
