Richard Rosengrant Obituary

Richard Michael Rosengrant, Sr., 77, of Edgewater, FL, passed away Sept. 5, 2021 as a result of Covid. Born Aug. 31, 1944 to the late Richard V. and Evelyn C. Rosengrant, he was a long time resident of Edgewater, FL. He was born and raised in Waterbury, CT and later Southington, CT. He graduated from Wilcox Tech in Meriden from the electronics department in 1963 and earned an Associate of Science degree in computer engineering technology (electronics) from Daytona Beach Community College in 1997. He was a DJ for several years using the stage name Rick Grant, mainly playing at Gabby's in Southington and the Hill Top Lounge in Moodus. He had a passion for WWII aircraft. His favorite was the P38 Lightning. He never went anywhere without a shirt with a picture of a P38.

In addition to his wife Caryl, he is survived by his brothers Donald, and Kenneth (Rachael) Rosengrant, sons Richard M. (Patty) Rosengrant, Jr., Kenneth (Ellen) Rosengrant, Bryan Rosengrant and daughters Karen (Darrin) Nettleton, Gretchen (Kevin) Barry and Katie Rosengrant. He also has 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 4 nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday Oct 16, 2021, 2:00 P.M. at Grace United Methodist Church, 121 Pleasant St., Southington, CT. Masks are required. Burial is private.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Richard's name may be made to Disabled American Veterans.
