Sally Gawel Obituary

MERIDEN - Sally B. Gawel, 94, was called by God, Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013 at the Bradley Home surrounded by her family. She resided at the Bradley Home for the last seven years.

Born on April 1, 1919, she was a lifelong resident of Meriden and a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church. She was employed by New Departure Hyatt for 35 years and retired in 1984.

Sally is survived by her son, Thomas Gawel and his wife, Jo-Anne Gawel, of Plantsville; and a grandson, Matthew Gawel and his wife, Blair Gawel, of Southington. Sally was pre deceased by a sister, Harriet Strack, of Springfield, Mass.; and a brother, Constantine Buczynski, of Meriden

Sally's family would like to thank the entire staff of the Bradley Home for their kindness, compassion and care given to Sally.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 28, at 11 a.m. at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St., Meriden. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sally's memory may be made to the "Clarence Bradley Society," c/o Bradley Home & Pavilion, 320 Colony St., Meriden CT 06451.
