Richard Eaton Obituary
South Deerfield, MA - Richard Eaton, 71, of South Deerfield, passed away peacefully at Baystate Springfield on March 12, 2025, after a period of failing health, surrounded by his loving family. Born on December 31, 1953, Richard grew up in Deerfield, where he was known for his kind heart, generous spirit, and deep love for his family. Richard is survived by his daughter, Lisa Woloss, and her husband, Ben, along with his beloved granddaughter, Eliana. He is also survived by his son, Rich. His brother, Harold, and family, and his sister, Marty and her family. Richard leaves behind many other family members and friends who will carry his memory in their hearts. He is reunited in heaven with the love of his life, Sandy, who passed away on December 21, 2017.
A lifelong outdoorsman, Richard loved hunting and fishing. He also had a profound appreciation for history and was always eager to share his knowledge and passion with others. Whether it was through reading, visiting historical sites, or discussing historical events, Richard found great joy in exploring the past. He was also a passionate fan of Boston sports, always cheering for his favorite teams. Richard cherished the simple pleasures of life, especially his regular breakfast and lunch meet-ups with former coworkers and friends, which brought him great joy.
A memorial service celebrating Richard's life will be held at Wrisley Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 19th from 5-7, where friends and family are invited to share their memories and pay their respects. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The World Wildlife Fund. Richard's warmth, humor, and love for those around him will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

I remember Richard from eigth grade at Frontier and the summer of 1970 when we picked cucumbers in Sunderland,the summer he was learning to drive,the same year i got my License I will remember to say a special prayer in church this Sunday.God Bless,John Norrish.
