Robert Eddy

Bernardston, MA - Robert Harold "Bob" Eddy, 82 years old, of Bernardston, passed away on October 28, 2024. Bob was born June 19, 1942 to Malcolm P. Eddy of Gill. Bob attended Turners Falls High School. Joined the Navy in June 1959, obtained the rank of Radioman 2nd class, Petty officer. His home base was Little Creek Amphibious Base, Norfolk, TACRON 22. Bob was honorably discharged June 1963. After a short time working for Vertrol Boeing Aircraft, as an electrician, he then moved to Turners Falls and worked for Lea & Deane Builders of Bernardston. He became a finish carpenter for Dole Bros. of Shelburne for 30 years. At that time he designed and built his beautiful home in Bernardston, where he and Donna resided for 30 years. His beautiful craftsmanship can be seen in many homes and businesses. And in his hometown at Powers Institution and the United Church.

Bob enjoyed the outdoors camping with the family and friends, snowmobiling, downhill skiing and many fun weekends on his boat water skiing and having fun with his family and friends. Bob treasured his family and his friends, who he missed as they passed and they will miss him.

Bob was on the Bernardston Board of Health for 15 years, Kiwanis member, LIfetime Moose member, Trustree of Powers Institute and Cushman Park.

Bob married Donna Hampton Jenness in Delta, PA July 1, 1961, who will love him through eternity. They have two cherished children Michelle and Robert (Bobby) Jr., daughter in law Bonnie and grandson-in-law Pete. Most cherished and whom he loved with all his heart, his granddaughter Katherine. He will be missed by his loved ones and his cat Oscar.

I thoroughly enjoyed the work that Bob did on the United Church. I came to a marvelous work and worship place. I, also enjoyed him as a person when we happened to be together.

Marcia and I have many fond memories of Bob. We went to many different church suppers and other fun events with Bob and his wife Donna. We loved Bob's sense of humor. He was always willing to provide us with help with any questions about the various issues we had with our house. His advice was right on the money. We enjoyed hearing about their many travel experiences around the the United States with their camper. I marveled at the way Bob could park his camper in some very small areas. I have trouble backing up my traverse. Bob will be sorely missed by his family and many friends. Bruce & Marcia Willard
