Debra Leasure Obituary

Debra "Debbie" Lynn Leasure was born on April 14, 1954 in Hanford, California to Emerson and Doris Leasure. She has lived in Porterville for 45 years. She passed away on July 7, 2016 in Porterville.
She received her elementary education at St. Anne's Catholic school and Olive Street School in Porterville. Debbie graduated from Monache in 1973. She received her AA degree at Porterville College in Physical Education. She was also active on the Track and Volley ball team at Porterville College. Debbie received her BS degree at University Cal North Ridge in Therapeutic Recreation. She was a Teachers Aid in Texas for a Therapeutic Recreational company, in California she was a House Mother for a Substance Abuse Facility and she also worked at the Merle Haggard Ranch for the handicap as a teacher's aid.
Debbie was active in the Urbaneers In-town 4-H Club as the treasure, which specialized in Homemaking activities. She loved all sports and enjoyed fishing.
Debbie is preceded in death by her brother Steven Leasure in 2013.
She is survived by her loving parents; Emerson and Doris Leasure of Porterville, brother Patrick Leasure of Palm Springs, two uncles; Virgil G. Freitas of Hanford and Virgil C. Leasure of Laton along with numerous cousins.
There will be a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00pm on Thursday July 14th at Whitehurst-Peters-Loyd Chapel and the interment will take place at 11:00am Friday July 15th at the Calvary Cemetery in Hanford. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society: P.O. Box 22718 Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
