Mary Summers Obituary

Mary Ann (Mossbarger) Summers, 75, passed peacefully at home on July 10, 2025, in Versailles, Kentucky, after a 15-month battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born on March 8, 1950, in Columbus, Ohio, Mary Ann graduated from Miami Trace (Class of 1968) and earned degrees from Eastern Kentucky University and Columbus College. Her 25-year teaching career spanned several states and countries, culminating with her final years at Friendship Valley Elementary in Maryland. The Department of Defense and Carroll County Public Schools recognized her with awards for her teaching excellence.

A devoted mother, Mary Ann was incredibly proud of her twin daughters, Krista Summers and Kelly Bowie, both in the medical field. In retirement, she was active in her community, enjoying pickleball, bridge, quilting, gardening, and travel.

She is survived by partner Doug Parker, daughters Krista (Bryon Free) and Kelly (Joshua Bowie), grandchildren Benjamin and Olivia, sister Rebecca Greco, former spouse T. Edward Summers, and many beloved relatives and friends.
