Anthony DeFazio Obituary
Anthony "Tony" DeFazio, 93, of Middletown, NY, died Saturday, October 17, 2009, at Orange Regional Medical Center, Horton Campus, Middletown, NY. He was 93.
Anthony was born in Bloomingburg, NY on June 12, 1916, the son of Nicholas and Olga Reinert DeFazio. He was the widower of Louise K. Schuring DeFazio his wife of 66 years who predeceased him on January 25, 2007.
He owned and operated Tony's Barber Shop, he also worked as a sewing machine operator for Playtogs & Miss Swank.
He served as Past President of Barber's Union, was a member of Bloomingburg Fire Department, Middletown Veteran Firemen Association, served as a Civil Defense Chief, a member of Mulberry House and The Happy Seniors. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his son, Anthony R. DeFazio and his wife, Layong of Middletown; two granddaughters, Jeanne O. Seidel and her husband, Anthony of Lake Elsinore, CA, and Marie L. DeFazio Schultz and her husband, Robert of Howells; two great-grandchildren, Nicholas B. Sadiel of Lake Elsinore, CA. and Audrey Schultz of Howells. He was predeceased by his brothers: Albert, Joseph, Domnick and Felix DeFazio.
Friends are invited to call on Thursday, October 22, from 2-4 p.m. at Morse Funeral Home Inc.. 33 Railroad Ave., Middletown, NY.
Funeral services will be held at Morse Funeral Home Inc., Middletown, NY, at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 23, with Lou Morse officiating. Burial will follow in Wallkill Cemetery Phillipsburg, NY.
Donations in Tony's name may be made to the Middletown Humane Society, 142 Bloomingburg Rd., Middletown, NY.
