Catherine 62 Obituary

Formerly of Milford, PA

Catherine M. (Scully) Buffa, 62, of Thayer Pond Rd., died Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the wife of the late Peter Buffa, who died in 1995.

Mrs. Buffa had been employed as a bank teller for many years at several banks in the Milford, PA area. She was born June 15, 1946 in New Rochelle, NY, the daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine (Sidman) Scully and was a graduate of Pompton Lakes High School, Pompton Lakes, NJ. She had been a resident of Milford, PA before moving to North Oxford in 2002.

Mrs. Buffa enjoyed camping and loved to read. In her retirement, she liked to travel and enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Buffa is survived by one brother, Joseph G. and his wife, Wanda Scully of Pompton Lakes, NJ; one sister, Margaret A. and her husband, William Lapierre of Douglas; three nieces, a nephew, four great-nieces, and a great-nephew.

Visiting hours will be Saturday, October 11, from 10-12 noon in the Buma Funeral Home, 480 Church St., Whitinsville, MA.

Graveside services will be Monday, October 13, at 11:30 a.m. in Milford, PA. A visiting hour will be Monday from 10-11 a.m. in the Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 W. Hartford St., Milford, PA 18337.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
