Cecelia Gullo Obituary

Formerly of Saylorsburg, Pa.

Cecelia Gullo, died Monday, July 16, 2007 at home.

She was born on March 24, 1921 in Brooklyn, N.Y. to the late Vincenzo and Giacomine Carbone. She moved to her "Blue Heaven" of Saylorsburg, Pa. in 1969 with her beloved husband, Peter, who predeceased her in 2005.

Cecelia worked as a cook and Nurse's Aide at Brookmont Acres Nursing Home for several years before becoming a home health aide for Homemaker Service of Monroe County. She won many awards for being an outstanding health care provider, until her retirement in 1993 at the age of 72. Those who knew her will remember her for wonderful cooking, baking and tender love and care. She was active in her church in Pa., cooking and helping on their social committee.

Cecelia is survived by her loving daughters, Patricia Luongo and her husband, John and Elizabeth Blick and her husband, Jay; her son, Vincent Cachia of Calif.; a daughter-in-law, Connie Cachia of Long Island and step-son, Peter Gullo of Florida. Beloved NaNa to, William and Jennifer Mackey, John and Melissa Luongo, Peter Mackey, Nicole Luongo, Timothy Mackey, James Blick, John Blick, Joseph, Lisa and Glenn Cachia; great-grandchildren, Jack William Luongo and Samantha Cachia, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Emmanuel Cachia, grandson, Anthony Cachia, great-grandson, Thomas Cachia, her brothers, Thomas and Sylvester and her sister, Elizabeth.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 20, 2007 at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Newburgh. Interment will follow in the family plot at St. John's Cemetery in Queens, N.Y.

The family will be present to receive friends on Thursday, July 19 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Coloni Funeral Home, 3001 Rt. 9W, New Windsor, NY 12553.

Arrangements are entrusted to Coloni Funeral Home in New Windsor.

Dear Liz (and family),

I'm sorry to see that Ceil has taken on a new adventure. I will always remember her GREAT cooking and her sense of humor from our years together at Brookmont. WOW! That was a long time ago. Hope everything else is going great and good,
