John Krupunich Obituary

Mr. John Krupunich of the Town of Deerpark, N.Y., a Safety & Security Manager at Summitt Research, Huguenot and longtime resident of the area, died Friday, July 20, 2007 at Bon Secours Community Hospital. He was 67.

He was born January 27, 1940 in Scranton, Pa., the son of the late John Krupunich and the late Anne K. Labosky Krupunich Ouslander.

John was a member of the Tri-States Chamber of Commerce; Tri-States Rod and Gun Club; Elk's Lodge No. 645, B.P.O.E and was a former member of the Neversink Engine Co.. He was also a lieutenant in the Deerpark Police Dept. where he had served for 28 years.

A family statement reads: "Through John's police and community involvement, he was a mentor and inspiration to all the lives he touched and he had that same courage and determination and positive attitude through his illness."

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Koch Krupunich at home; two sons, Brian Krupunich of Port Jervis and David Krupunich and his wife, Patty of Huguenot; a daughter, Vicki Lee Mammen of Port Jervis; two brothers, Richard Krupunich and his wife, Ellen of Middletown and Arthur Ouslander and his wife, Mary Ellen of Severna Park, Md.; six grandchidren: Dustin Shayne Mammen, Kyle John Dodge, Brandan Krupunich, Bronson Krupunich, Brianna Krupunich and Amanda Krupunich; also, nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his former wife, Joyce Krupunich and two grandchildren, Brad Matthew Krupunich and Courtney Elizabeth Mammen-Sienko.

Friends may call at the Gray-Parker Funeral Home, 100 East Main Street, Port Jervis on Monday, July 23, 2007 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with Elk's services at 8:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gray-Parker Funeral Home with Rev. Robert D. Cassidy officiating.

Cremation will be at H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg, Pa.

Memorial contributions may be made to Humane Society Of Port Jervis/Deerpark, 202 Route 209, Port Jervis, NY 12771 or the Drew United Methodist Church, PO Box 1015, Port Jervis, NY 12771-1015.
