MARIA MANISCALCO Obituary



Montgomery, NY

Maria F. Maniscalco of Montgomery, NY, a retired nurse from Montefiore Hospital in the Bronx, died Monday, May 17, 2010, at home. She was 95.

The daughter of Thomas and Catherine Bologna Miceli, she was born August 22, 1914 in New York City. She was the widow of Sydney Maniscalco.

Maria was very active in the Goodwill Presbyterian Church in Montgomery as a bible school teacher, deacon, and choir member.

She is survived by her niece and nephew, Joseph Maraday and his wife, Edith and Frances Rivera; brother-in-law, Thomas Maniscalco; great-nieces and nephews: Peter Maraday and his wife, Barbara, Joseph Maraday, Thomas Maraday and his wife, Colleen, Jolene Stuit and her husband, Terry and Lisa Maraday; great-great-nieces and nephews and extended church family friends.

Visitation will be held today, Thursday, May 20, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St., Walden, NY.

Funeral services will be held on Friday May 21, at 11 a.m. at the Goodwill Presbyterian Church, 2117 State Route 208, Montgomery. Burial will be in the Goodwill Cemetery in Montgomery.

Memorial contribution may be made to the Goodwill Presbyterian Church or Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties, Inc., 800 Stony Brook Ct., Newburgh, NY 12550.
