Robert Dembia Obituary

Robert F. Dembia, born in Mahwah, N.J. on May 10, 1937, departed September 14, 2007.

Robert F. Dembia of Monroe, an Actuary with New York Life Insurance Company for 33 years and resident of the area died Friday September 14, at home with his family. He was 70 years old.

The son of the late Stanley and Mary Dembia, he was born May 10, 1937, in Mahwah, N.J.

He was a longtime member of the Monroe Knights of Columbus, Council 2079 where he served as Grand Knight and Faithful Navigator. His many years of dedicated service earned him the respect and admiration of his Brother Knights as well as members of the local community. He was a long time parishioner of Saint Anastasia Roman Catholic Church in Harriman New York.

He will be missed greatly by his family and friends.

Survivors include his loving wife, Carol Dembia who resides in Monroe, N.Y. May 11th of 2008 would have been their 45th year together as Husband and Wife.

He leaves behind two children, daughter Deborah Flood and her husband, James of Monroe, and son John Dembia and his wife, Stacie of Central Valley. He leaves behind five beloved grandchildren: Kyle, Brendan, Evan, Grace and Jack.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 18, during the hours of 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Center, 139 Stage Rd., Monroe, N.Y.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, September 19, at 10 a.m., at Saint Anastasia Parish Church, located in Harriman. Interment will follow at St. Anastasia Parish Cemetery, Harriman, N.Y.
