Rolf Owe Obituary

Formerly of Ellenville, NY

Rolf D. Owe a former resident of the Wawarsing and Ellenville area, passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2008 at the Spa Creek Center in Annapolis, MD. He lived in Wawarsing area for over 50 years, then moving in the last year to be nearer to family. He was 80.

He was born in Hamburg, Germany on May 2, 1927, and was the son of the late Johann and Anna Owe, also formerly of Wawarsing. Mr. Owe was employed as a machinist and later as foreman at the Schrade Cutlery in Ellenville for 40 years, retiring in 1992. Mr. Owe was also a prominent local musician, performing regularly at many area hotels throughout the 50s, 60s, and 70s.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Annita Owe; a daughter, Jutta Mahar of Annapolis, MD; a son, Manfred of Columbia, MD; four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service for family members will be held on Saturday, January 19, at 12 noon at the Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville, MD.
