Serge Joseph Obituary
Serge Joseph of Newburgh, NY, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2008, at home. He was 64.
Son of Audette Joseph and the late Marc Myrthil, he was born January 21, 1944 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. He married Violette Volcy Joseph on December 19, 1969 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, who survives at home.
A family statement reads: "Dad will be remembered as a man who lived first and foremost for his family. A man whose decency and character endeared him to all who knew him. A selfless man, he regularly sent charitable donations to his native country, Haiti. With a fondness of reading, there was never a time when he couldn't get lost in a good book. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him including his dog, Prince, who will miss sitting with his 'Dad' as he read."
In addition to his loving wife, Violette, he is survived by his son, Sergio Joseph; daughters, Natacha, Joanne and Farrah Joseph; daughter-in-law, Veronika Joseph; brothers and sisters: Franklin, Marc, Carmel, Roosezelt, Wilson and Wesley Myrthil, Micheline Lallane and Yvrose Leveille; grandchildren: Adrianna Knight, Javareah Joseph, Dondre Fulford and Inessa Joseph.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, September 20, at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A service will be held from 4-6 p.m. following visitation in the funeral home. Cremation will take place in Cedar Hill Crematory, Newburgh.

sorry for your loss at this time. your husband and your kids father was like a father to me at times. a hardworking family man left our family to help somewhere else. i always remember good things about him. and miss him dearly. growning up with your family became my family i love all of you . god bless until we meet again .
