She put up a valiant four year fight against colon cancer.

She is survived by her sister Gayle (Joe) Johnson; sister Pat (Terry) Will, and her sister Kathy Hall. She has seven grandchildren; Cory and Kevin Wheeler, Bailey and Sydney Freer, Calvin, Donovan and Rayce Freer and many nieces and nephews.

She met her husband, Clifford, on a blind date New Year's Eve 1960.

After Cliff received his teaching credential from Sacramento State College they moved to Hayfork, CA, where they still live.
Denny was an avid quilter, a charter member of the "Log Cabin" Quilter's Guild in Hayfork. She volunteered many hours at the Hayfork Senior Center. She was chairman for many years for the quilt auction at the Trinity County Fair. She was instrumental in purchasing a Long Arm quilting machine for the club. She has made hundreds of "comfort quilts" for the sick and lonely.
She loved to quilt, read, cook, paint, go camping at Trinity Lake and spend time with her friends and family. She has hundreds of friends in Yuma, AZ, where she and Cliff have been spending their winters for the past 14 years.

There will be a memorial service at the graveside in the Hayfork Cemetery on
Sunday, June 26, 2011 at 11:00 am, followed by a potluck at the Hayfork Senior Center.
