Thank you for remembering him on yet another Memorial weekend...the years without him in our lives are flying by to fast, and to be honest that is my greatest fear to look into the future and know hes not in it...It's the scariest thing in the world to me, but to know people still care is a huge help! I enjoyed the boys so much when they were here! They were so patient and loving and the stories made us all laugh, please tell Trevor thank you so much for that and we would love to hear from him and see what he is up to!

Travis, as the war ended today i thought of you. how brave you were and how much you loved your job. I remember in 8th grade you would go around saying im going to be somebody someday, you made that happen. I sit here in tears as im reading the posts from your mom and grandma. being a mom now myself I cant imagine how hard this has been for them, you are so loved. They were so lucky to have you. Wow how the time has passed since we were tiny 8th graders at a little school very few knew about. You made a family, a group of friends, a community and a country proud. thank you for your ultimate sacrafice, your life, for our freedom. you are and will always be my hero.

It seems only fitting that I am think about you and all of our Military and Veteran on this Fourth of July.
If it weren't for all of you, I doubt our lives would be the same. Because of you, we are able to be free. We have freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and so very many other freedoms. I think of little things like being able to go for a walk, being able to own a home, and so many small things. Again, with all of you, we might not have this type of freedom.
To say thank you seems like not enough. I will HONOR you for as long as I live, and, I Will Never Forget.

*OUR HERO FOREVER*....A loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, a great friend and a WONDERFUL MAN!
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal,
Love leaves a MEMORY no one can steal,
You are always with us in everything we do even if it doesn't show,
But what it means to lose you, no one will ever know,
You wished no one farewell, had no time to say goodbye,
You were gone before we knew it, and only God knows why,
You will never be forgotten - you left us many memories, pictures & your beautiful drawings,
And to us who love you dearly, these things will always LAST!
You are soneone very SPECIAL, who talked so much of all the things you were going to do when got home!
They say: "Missing someone gets easier everyday because even though it's one day further from the last time you saw each other, it's one day closer to the next time you will!"

This weekend we were talking of my Marine's first homecoming and his temporary roomie we brought treats to. We've never gotten over how gorgeous his eyes were. He was so polite. He became a friend to my son that my son will never forget. I pray his loved ones know his spirit lives on in the hearts of many. I also pray he's smiling down and knows he did his duty well and his country proud.

Hey buddy, I know it has been awhile since I wrote but I guess it is better late than never. I was thinking about you today as I was explaining to the recruits how important it is to stop moving when I get to zero and to not reach up to scratch their face. I mentioned your name and about broke down when you put your heart and sole into these kids so they get it into their thick heads to do what we tell them to do. I wish you were still here in person to enjoy the days with you family and your brothers. Take care of yourself big man, your always in thought and in my heart. Marc Estes

Americans are very loving and caring and we do take care of our own...I've seen the best in people and I will tell you the Marines have been incredible, and the men who were with my son in that hell hole have taken his younger brother under their wing and I know Travie is smiling at them and very thankful to them all!!So my heart and my prayers go out to all who are still praying for there own heros to return safely!!

To Travis and his family,
Not a day goes by that I do not think about you and my other brothers that I lost overseas while in Iraq. I served with Travis in my second deployment, his first. I too was a communicator that was attached to a line company. He was always asking me how I was doing, as I was always looking out for him and his fellow Marines new to the deployment thing. We had many chats in complete Iraqi desert darkness about life and everything that comes with it, and I felt as if I should stop by after finding this website. I know he made his family proud as he made me proud knowing I had a great Marine like him on my side.
was going through old pics of Iraq, My section had to pick up Travis from an airfield and take him back to the Dam....

My name is Amanda Rogers. I am a Corpsman in the U.S. Navy and have served in Iraq as well. I was searching for a KIA memorial braclet on the internet to honor my fellow vetrans, when I came across your heros name. I started reading the stories about him and his sacrifice and was overwhelmed with gratitude. I just purchased a bracelet bearing his name. I will wear it everyday with honor and pride in my heart for him and his courage.

HELLO SWEET SON....Momma has a hard time seeing all these special things for you...cause it means your not here with us...I wanted you to know your sister is trying to out do your sense of adventure and love of all things dangerous..she gave up on the Airforce(thank god)and decided instead to go volunteer for three months in Tanzania, Africa imagine my joy(not)when she sprung that one on me..I asked her,"Don't you think I've been through enough worry after two tours with you?" it didn't matter your brave headstrong sister went to Africa for 3 months and called me to let her stay 2 extra weeks(which I did)she could not have had a more incredible time anywhere...and I truly believe you were with her watching out for your sissy all the way, when she climbed Mt. Kilanmigaro she felt you all the way up and I know you were there when she rafted the Nile(keeping those crocks away)and when she camped on the ridge of the crater and kept the lions from eating her on her safari...you were there and I know your watching out for momma everyday when I drive to school I'm almost done(11 more weeks) and I'm so surprised I have had the strenghth to do this...but I do it to make you proud of me for trying something so out of my comfort zone...I think about how out of yours you were across the world and think if you could do that then I can handle this...your little bro is incredible right now...of course hes pushing buttons just like you did at his age but he is so loving and grownup you would be so proud of this man he is becoming...he is my rock just like you were...and he looks so much like you the more time passes but hes so different too..WE MISS YOU BUBBA EVERY MINUTE OF EVERYDAY...I LOVE YOU HANDSOME BOY!!!!

Merry Christmas sweet grandson! Hard to beleive this is our second without you and it definitely isn't any easier. We are all having a really tough time trying to fit all the pieces together - you have always been such an important part of this holiday time!! As the oldest, you were the one who would get Tessa, Jake and the cousins together & all the games & fun would start! Everyone looked up to you for your leadship in controlling your enviornment!!!!! Because of you, we have some many memories & pictures to hold on to - but sometimes it makes us MISS YOU MORE!! Some of the Marines in your unit want to come & visit you again where they get back from their tour..received an e-mail from them yesterday saying how much they miss you!! Trav, you are such an incredible individual who touched so many lives in so many different ways! Nothing will ever be the same but I know you would want us to be strong! Give Mom, Tessa & Jake a special VISIT, Trav......they are really having a tough time right now!! Mom shopped for stocking stuffer today & how hard to shop for two when it's always been THREE! These are the times that it really brings it home that you are not coming home....you may be in a better place, but Trav your present is missed by this family so much!! Love you Grandson & we will always remember your "sparkling blue eyes & wonderful smile" that together captured our hearts and always will! MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU! They attended a dinner last nite where they honored you as being a true Hero, mentioning the lives you saved & then weeks later losing your life! At the Memorial today, Tessa will walk to the front when they announce your name. I know you are so proud of your sister, Papa said she is so impressive talking to people about you! Stay close to them - Papa says he feels your presents there!

I thank you son for all the laughter and memories you have left me with, but most of all I want to thank you for the people you have left behind to help us through, your friends and fellow marines have not forgotten and have truelly been here for me, you always had a gift of being around good people and it is what gets me through these days-I know its been a year since you left for heaven and a bigger wave to surf, but it has been 19 months since you left mommas arms for the last time-I hugged you in the hallway and didnt want to let go and you told me it'll be alright but I didn't believe you-I think you knew! I LOVE YOU BRAVE BOY,LOVE MOMMA YOU WILL ALWAYS BE MY HERO!!

In Memory of Travis ~ (Debra Estep)
September 9, 2008
Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.
The Wind on The Downs
“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”
(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )
Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….
“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”
I did not know Travis, but I am remembering
his service. He is my hero. !

The Other Side
i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.
can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.
i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.
it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side
the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

"OUR HERO FOREVER"
A YEAR!!! So hard to believe Trav!!
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal,
Love leaves a memory NO ONE CAN STEAL!
You are always with us in everything we do even if it doesn't show,
But what it means to lose you, no one will ever know,
You wished no one farewell, had no time to say goodbye,
You were gone before we knew it, and only God knows why.
You will never be forgotten because you left so many memories, pictures and beautiful drawing you did in the past,
And to us who love you dearly, these things will always LAST!
To us, you are someone SPECIAL, who had so many things you still wanted to do!
They say: Missing someone gets easier everyday because even though it's one day further from the last time you saw each other, it's one day closer to the next time you will!
If Tears could build a staircase and memories a lane,
We would walk all the way to Heaven and bring you back again!
MISSING YOU ALWAYS, TRAVIS!!!!
Hope you got our balloons filled with SPECIAL message from us to you!!!

My son is LCpl. Sean Wyman, who served with Travis in Afghanistan. I had the honor of meeting him shortly before they deployed, he was polite and respectful, as are all the young men of that unit. They were, and are, such a band of brothers..each of those men wear a wrist band with Cpl. Woods name engraved upon it...he will never be forgotten. Nearly the eve of yet another deployment, and I find myself thinking a lot about Travis and his family and all that they have lost with him. Not that I really believe it necessary to ask him, but I do... watch over your brothers, be with them in spirit and memory and bring them home safe. Bless you and your family for you did make the ultimate sacrafice.

To the wonderful family of this young man, Thank you. You have given this country a selfless, honorable and heroic young man who gave his life for my freedoms. With everything going on in this country today, I can only imagine how you must feel, but soldiers such as Travis obviously understand going in, that they may not come back alive. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Travis, thank you.

I'm not sure why - but this place makes me feel so close to you. Maybe it's reading the wonderful messages you have been sent by people who care about you. Your fellow Marines, Chuck, Ryan & Kurt will be up today. They wanted to visit you & see us before they are shipped back to "that place"! They are not looking forward to going back - they keep saying it was YOU who kept the unit together with your leadership quality. They were with you at the end and losing you has really left an impact on their lives - it has been so easy for us to embrace them into our family - they have so many memories & stories of you to share. Because of who you are, Trav and the people you touched - you keep giving!! We will be THANKING YOU ALWAYS!

Trav, every day on my way to work you seem to enter my thoughts. I try to listen for a message. As it brings tears to my eyes, I stop myself and tell You to go comfort your Mom, Jama and Papa and the rest of the clan. I know they need that. My Whitney misses you so much and wishes she could have been in San Diego for your memorial. I'm thankful to Jama and Papa for being relentless with the camera and the videos as you and all your cousins were growing up. What wonderful memories they have made. Although you are not here in body, you are here in heart and soul. So as I drive to work and I reflect on all the things I am thankful for, I want to Thank You personally for your sacrifice so that I may continue to live free, think free, and be free. Until we meet again My Hero, Whitney's Mom, Shelli
