Winnifred Day Obituary
She was a very loving, as well as deeply loved person. She left behind five children: Charlene Ford of Shasta Lake, CA; Connie Sanfratello also of Shasta Lake; William Day of Chico, CA; JoAnna Angus of Salem, OR and Mary Day of Utah. Winnifred had 18 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren and three nieces.
Winnifred was born April 28, 1925 in Brookings, OR, grew up in Dunsmuir, CA, until she attended College in Sacramento, CA. She later moved home to Dunsmuir, where she married and had a family. She relocated to Shasta Lake in 1964. Winnifred worked as the executive house keeper for the Best Western Inn on Hilltop Drive, Redding, until she retired in 1990. She continued to care for people in their homes. She volunteered for many organizations and was active in her church: St. Michaels Catholic mission in Shasta Lake. She continued to be a role model of love, kindness and generosity for all of us to the very end.
We will have a rosary for Winnifred Friday February 22, 2008 at 5 p.m., a viewing Saturday starting at 9 a.m. and a funeral mass to follow at 11 a.m., all at St. Michaels Mission in Shasta Lake. Winnifred wished to be cremated and her ashes will be laid to rest at a later time. If flowers or donations are sent, please send them to St. Michaels Mission, 3440 Shasta Dam Blvd., Shasta Lake, CA 96019.

Remembering crab feeds in Dunsmuir California. Mom and Dad were in the Dunsmuir Eagles Aerie. I have seen the Eagles in Chico, but my parents left the lodge when her mother passed away. The crab feeds fresh crab from , Eureka only a few hours drive to the beach and fresh crab. A day where all the family and members of the Dunsmuir Eagles Aeries "Lots of fun." Those were great days.
