Doug Jones Obituary

Douglas Mark Jones, 57, Red Oak, died Monday, Aug. 18, 2014, at his residence.
Doug was born Oct. 19, 1956, in Red Oak, son of Clyde and Naomi (Clayton) Jones. He graduated from Red Oak High School in 1975 and later started farming.
In 1981, he married Denise Rasmussen and to this union two children were born, Michael and Bonnie.
Doug went to work for Snap-On Tools and moved to Meridian, Miss. for two years. He briefly returned to Iowa before moving to Atlanta, where he worked for Tru Tech (professional wildlife removal experts) until 2001, when he moved back to Iowa. Upon his return to Iowa he started his own business, Midwest Wildlife Removal Services.
Doug was a member of the Stratton United Methodist Church, a former Elks Lodge member, and at one time, served on the Volunteer Sheriff's Department as a special deputy. He enjoyed target shooting, bass fishing, and spending time with his granddaughter.
Survivors include his children, Michael Jones and Bonnie Jones of Elliott; a granddaughter: Tessa Rae Jones of Elliott; parents, Clyde and Naomi Jones of Red Oak; a sister, Mary Sellers and husband Terry of Red Oak; nephews, Dustin Sellers and wife Amber of Stanton and Clint Sellers of Chesterfield, Mo; many other relatives and friends.
Burial of the cremated remains will take place at a later date at Evergreen Cemetery.
Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
